Where will the national council
session be held?
This year's national convention will be
held in Indianapolis, Indiana at:

What are the dates of the national council session?
Thursday, October 30 through Sunday,
November 2, 2008. The Opening Ceremony of the convention will
take place on Thursday, October 30, beginning in the early
evening and closing on Sunday, November 2, at approximately 12
Noon.
Who can attend the national council session/convention?
Voting Members (formerly known as
"Delegates") and Members (formerly known as "Official Visitors")
must be registered members of Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) and
be at least 14 years of age or older at the time of the
convention.
When will hotel information be available for Voting Members
and Members?
Hotel rates will range from approximately
$153.00, plus tax per room per night to $236.00, plus tax per
room per night, depending on the hotel and number of people in
the room. Voting Members and Members interested in attending
MUST register through their local council.
What are the registration fees for Voting Members and
Members?
The fees for Voting Members and Members,
age 18 years and older (before the established early-bird
deadline) is $245.00. The fee for registrations
received after the early-bird deadline is $275.00 The fee for Voting Members and
Members, age 14 to 17, is $175.00 before early-bird deadline and $195.00
after.
What does full-time registration include?
Full-time Voting Members and Members are entitled to attend the
National Council Session and the Hall of Exhibits on all four
days (October 30 to November 2).
What is a day pass and how can I get one?
Day passes are available
to individuals 12 and older who wish to attend the National
Council Session and the Hall of Exhibits on the day(s)/date(s)
indicated on the pass ONLY. Day passes will be sold beginning in
early September; if you are interested, you will need to contact
your local council at that time. Fees for day passes and Hall of
Exhibit (girls 5 to 17 and adults over 18) passes are as
follows:
Day Pass (includes Hall of Exhibit entry)
Adult (age 18 and up) $90.00
Girls (ages 14 to 17) $45.00
Hall of Exhibit entry ONLY
Adult (age 18 and up) $15.00
Girls (ages 5 to 17) $5.00
Will there be a Girl Leadership
Institute (Formerly known as the Girl Congress) and where and
when will it take place?
The Girl Scout Leadership Institute will be
held Wednesday, October 29 through Thursday October 30, prior to
the start of the National Council Session. Sessions will be held
at the Indianapolis Convention Center and the Westin
Indianapolis Hotel. Girls in grades 6 to 12 who are registered
member of Girl Scouts of the USA are eligible to participate.
