Each and every summer, beginning in 1965, girls from Girl Scouts - Sybaquay Council have packed their bags and headed north to
Camp Pokonokah Hills in beautiful Wisconsin to experience the traditions of camp - nature, swimming and boating, singing by the campfire, making crafts and meeting new friends.
This year we have a new program just for Girl Scout troops/groups and
families.
Discover Pokie . . .
-
Discover Pokie
is not your everyday resident camp program. It is a
combination of Troop/Group Camping and Family
Camping that puts you in the driver's seat.
Who can attend?
For troop/group camping, the program is open to Girl Scout
Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors.
For family camping, the program is open to all ages
and is open
to mom, dad, sisters, brothers as well as extended family
members.
Who needs to accompany youth participants?
For troop/group camping, Safety-Wise girl/adult
ratios and
guidelines must be met. This would mean a minimum of two
female adults. One must be a registered Girl Scout and have
completed the Field Trip Basics training. One adult must not
be
related to the other adult(s).
For family camping, youth must be accompanied by at
least
one adult.
Can I mix family camping and troop/group camping?
The troop/group camping participants will be housed in a
separate unit from family camping participants. Because of
this,
your troop/group will need separate adult chaperones from the
family participants.
