It's a Girl's Life - Lead it! Become a Girl Scout Juliette!

Girl Scout Program

 

No Girl Scout troop in your area? Don't have time for troop meetings? Or, do you just want to work on your own and do fun stuff with other Girl Scouts when you're ready? Then, being a Girl Scout Juliette might be the answer for you!

Becoming a Juliette is a great alternative for the busy, active girl to stay connected with Girl Scouts. If your troop is disbanding or you are considering leaving Girl Scouts, make sure you check out the opportunities available to you as a Juliette.

 

A Girl Scout Juliette is an individually-registered Girl Scout. Any girl between the ages of 5 and 17 may become a member of Girl Scouts. She must accept the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

A girl can join as a Girl Scout Juliette at any time during the year and at any age level*:
            Girl Scout Daisy, in grades K - 1
            Girl Scout Brownie, in grades 2 - 3
            Girl Scout Junior, in grades 4 - 5
            Girl Scout Cadette, in grades 6 - 8
            Girl Scout Senior, in grades 9 - 10
            Girl Scout Ambassador, in grades 11 - 12 (new level
)

There are may avenues of participation for a Girl Scout Juliette:

  • Earn Daisy Petals, Try-Its, Badges, Interest Project Awards

    As a Juliette Girl Scout, a girl does not participate in Girl Scouting or meet regularly with a troop. Instead, she may work on earned recognitions on her own, using her age-appropriate handbook/badgebook as a guide.

  • Earn the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver or Gold Award.
    A Girl Scout Juliette may earn any of these awards at the appropriate age level.

  • Attend Day/Twilight Camp or Resident Camp.
    A Girl Scout Juliette may attend camp in their local service unit, or may attend Sybaquay's Camp Pokonokah Hills or c-op camp.

  • Attend Local Service Unit Events and Council-Sponsored Events.
    A Girl Scout Juliette may any local service unit event such as a sock-hop. She may register for any program event listed in Sybaquay's program booklet that indicates "individual registration." Additionally, any Sybaquay-sponsored event, such as Sybaquay Way, is also open to Girl Scout Juliettes.

  • Make a difference in her community.
    A Girl Scout Juliette can work on an community service projects. Some suggestions would be to organize a clean-up day at her local park, planting flowers at her church or school, or volunteering to help at a food pantry.

  • Participate in a destination.
    Girl Scout Juliettes who fall under the age 11-17, can
    apply to attend a national or council-sponsored destination.



    1. As a Girl Scout Juliette, she can even purchase her own Juliette patch to wear on the front of her vest or sash, in place of troop numbers!
